Sanctuary of Aether Foundation, the Fallen Paradise

In the last article, we’ve take a looked at the Team Skull, being favored with their “goofy” characteristic. That said, Team Skull is actually not the main villain of the game. As players progress, they’ll find out that there is another villainous organization. And that is Aether Foundation, an organization thrived to be a paradise for Pokemon. But in the end it is twisted by its own hand.

The Beginning of Aether Foundation

The Aether Foundation was led by three administrative members: Lusamine – the President of Aether Foundation who has a great passion and love for pokemon, Faba – the Branch Chief; and Wicke– the branch chief assistant.

At the beginning, the Aether Foundation was established with the goal to cure and protect Pokemon. Thus, they wanted to create an utopia where Pokemon could live in peace and harmony. This goal could be seen from the wish of Aether Foundation’s president, Lusamine, who has a great passion and love for Pokemon. Therefore, they built an artificial island called as Aether Paradise. This island built as their headquarter and also, to prevent potential threats such as Team Skull.

Besides protecting Pokemon, Aether Foundation also focused on researching about the fabled Ultra Wormhole and the Ultra Beasts (*). Throughout the researches, the Aether Foundation created 3 new Pokemon Type: Null which can defeat the Ultra Beasts. In addition, they created the powerful Beast Balls specialized in capturing Ultra Beasts.

* Ultra Beasts: They are unknown beings come from the outer plains of existence. Also, they possess the mysterious power which is unknown to mankind. According to Alola’s legend, in some rare occasions, a powerful beast could come out from the wormholes. And it was the job for the guardian deities to fight against them.

As good as the Aether Foundation’s purpose might sound, the shadow finally consumed the organization, along with its righteous goal. After the players’s first meeting with Lusamine and the Aether Foundation, the players gradually discover the true dark intention behind its kind-hearted appearance.

Lusamine, once a kind lady who shares deep love for all pokemon, became twisted since the loss of her husband – Professor Mohn. Long ago, Professor Mohn discovered the existence of the Ultra Beasts and the Ultra Wormholes. He carried out a great deal of research about the Ultra Beasts and the Ultra Wormholes, and then one day he mysteriously went missing through the wormhole. This is highly the reason why Lusamine went to madness, as she thrived to research about the Ultra Beasts and the Ultra Wormholes with hope that she can find her husband. Things went worst when Lusamine was corrupted by the Ultra Beast Nihilego’s poison. She obsessed with the Ultra Beast and tried to convince that Ultra Beast is the only true beauty.

Opposed to what Lusamine believed, Gladio and Lillie didn’t agree with her and insisted that the poison is dangerous. Afterwards, Lusamine even branded her own children to be traitors. Later on both childs left, Gladio stole one of the Type:Null pokemon while Lillie wished to bring her mother back to her sense.

Despite all that, Lusamine still kept onto her dark goal. She even manipulated other Aether Foundation’s employees to take Nihilego’s poison. All received Nihilego’s poison and went mad, became like cultists, except for Wicke who understood the danger of the poison and secretly disposed of the poison.

Ultimately, the players and Lillie encounter Lusamine in the Ultra Space to put an end to her plan. In this point, Lusamine fused herself with Nihilego and fight the players and Lillie. Finally, the players and Lillie defeated Lusamine and splited her from Nihilego. Despite the victory, the poison is still in Lusamine’s body and she’s seeking a way to get rid of it.

To some extent, the story of Lusamine and the Aether Foundation is quite a tragedy. Based on Gladio and Lillie’s story, Lusamine originally was a kind woman who just wanted to protect Pokemon. If that’s true, what led Lusamine to the path of insanity is the missing of her husband, Professor Mohn. It seems the loss of her husband left her with an empty, void state. Therefore, she tried desperately to find her husband to fill in that void. As the results, she continued Professor Mohn’s research about Ultra Beasts and the Ultra Wormholes. But in the end, it drove Lusamine insane.

This story is somewhat similar to H.P Lovecraft’s cosmic horror stories. In these stories, there are beings called the Old Gods living in the cosmic plains. They possess the knowledge and power which mankind can’t comprehend. Those who try to contact or learn from them will eventually become insane. It just like what happened to Lusamine and her research about the Ultra Beasts.

As “insanity” as it may sound, Lusamine was not simply a mad, hostile villain. She was an intelligent and extremely manipulative president who could control other people at her whim. In the first encounter, players would see Lusamine as a kind woman. The players could only discover her true intention after a considerable progress. Even Guzma – the leader of Team Skull, was manipulated by Lusamine and became Aether Foundation’s secret guardian. And, it was not a coincidence that almost all Aether Foundation’s employees followed Lusamine’s order and injected with Nihilego’s poison.

Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Lusamine is Pokemon’s best villain of all time. Still, Lusamine’s story is truly something to think about. It is a sad story of a passionate woman who seeked goodness for pokemon. But she gradually overshadowed by sadness, and ended up corrupted by the “cosmic being”, the Ultra Beasts.

The Hall of Armor: The Ultimate Collection of Iron Man Suit and Armors

Iron Man is probably one of the most well-known heroes in Marvel Universe. Tony Stark, a.k.a the Iron Man, is a normal human being, but with an extraordinary mind. With the Iron Man suit, his power can rival with other superheroes with superpowers. Throughout many movies, Tony Stark has developed plenty of new and cool Iron Man suit and armors. Therefore, it is fascinating to see his extensive arsenal of Iron Man suit. And so with no further delay, let’s check out Tony Stark’s Hall of Armor: All Iron Man Suit Collection!

Iron Man Suit Mark I

Iron Man Suit Mark I was the very first armor developed by Tony Stark, and also the armor he created while being imprisoned by the Ten Rings, a terrorism group led by Raza in Afghanistan. During this time, Raza offered Tony a “deal”: he would give Tony freedom; in exchange Tony had to complete the Jericho missile for him. However, fully knew that Raza wouldn’t keep his word, Tony, along with Dr. Yinsen, a fellow prisoner, built an armor in secret in order to escape. The result was the Iron Man Suit Mark I which Tony used to successfully escape the prison, despite being unable to rescue Dr. Yinsen.

This first Iron Man Suit focused solely on heavy offense. It equipped with heavy weaponry such as flamethrowers on each of its arm, and a rocket launcher. It also had rough and bulky appearance, which made wearer looked like a tanking robot. The suit also featured bulletproof characteristic, along with rocket boosters for jumping.

This Iron Man suit was also the first and probably the only suit which didn’t include AI system. And its helmet was purely for face protection without any other technology installation.

After his return from Afghanistan, Tony Stark started on developing the second version: Iron Man Suit Mark II. The goal of developing Mark II was to revamp the Mark I version and focus more on the flight capability and AI implementation.

Iron Man Suit Mark II had a more delicate and refined design, which has been the staple design for later Iron Man suit and armors. Mark II suit implemented with the new technology which focused on enhancing flying ability. The suit featured thruster boots, and repulsor gauntlets which used for balancing during flight.

Another big update for this new model is the implementation of the new A.I system called J.A.R.V.I.S which had voice informing about status. The Mark II also had “smarter” feature than the Mark I, typically the built-in computer with holographic head-up display and sensing system.

Initially, the Mark II’s flying ability was superb, but with a fatal flaw: If Tony reached a particular height on the sky, the suit would be frozen, rendering the suit useless. In addition, the armor Mark II’s main focus wasn’t for battle, so it didn’t feature any weapons.

War Machine Mark I

This revamped version was solely for war, therefore, it had tankier look than the original Mark II. Also, it equipped with various heavy weapons such as Ex-Wife detonation system, Repulsors and Unibeam, M134 Minigun, and the Sub-Machine Guns implemented on the gauntlets.

The War Machine was originally Iron Man Suit Mark II, but it wasn’t Tony who modified it. In Iron Man II, when Tony “recklessly” celebrated his birthday party while in his Iron Man Suit Mark IV, his James Rhodes stopped Tony while wearing Mark II. Afterwards, he brought the Mark II to the US government due to his obligation. The government modified the Mark II and changed its name to Variable Threat Response Battlesuit, or War Machine in short.

Iron Man Suit Mark III

This Mark III was the successor of Mark II version, with better enhancements in every aspect. The design of Mark III was even refined further with the signature red and yellow tone.

Mark III was built with the gold-titanium alloy which was extremely tough. The suit itself could resist bullets, high damages and impacts. The flight capability was also greatly enhanced with the Flight Stabilizers on the two arms and the Boot Propulsors. As a versatile Iron Man suit, Mark III featured various combat abilities like Super-strength, Repulsors, Unibeam, Shoulder Mini-gun, Rockets, and Flares.

This Iron Man Suit Mark III used in the first Iron Man movie, especially during the combat between Tony and Obadiah Stane who wore the Iron Monger.

Iron Man Suit Mark IV

The Mark IV was the next successor of Mark III and it seemed to be Tony’s main suit until the development of Mark VI.

In overall the Mark IV wasn’t much different from Mark III model, except for the different suit texture design and several upgrades. Mark IV still retained the standard features: Super-strength, Repulsors and Unibeam system.

In Iron Man 2, Tony wore this Mark IV during his “final” birthday. He believed that he would die soon due to Palladium core toxicity; therefore, he wanted to have fun during his “final days”.

Iron Man Suit Mark V

The Mark V model was designed as a “portable version” which could be used even in civilian areas. As a portable Iron Man suit, this suit could fold itself into a suitcase and could be carried at ease.

Unlike the traditional yellow and red tone, it had silver and red tone. Since it was also a portable version, rather than fully assembled suit in Tony’s workshop, the suit’s power was also pretty limited. Besides the standard Iron Man suit’s features, the suit was rather weak by itself with limited speed, versatility, and power. It still had super-strength and high speed, but it would face trouble in maneuvering if Tony had to face high speed enemy.

Iron Man Suit Mark VI

Mark VI was a significant change after the Mark IV and Mark V with its signature triangle core. Unlike the traditional Palladium core which could poison and kill the user, this new core seemed to impose no threat to the user. Also it seemed to have higher power than the old core.

Thanks to the more powerful triangle core, Iron Man suit Mark VI was able to perform much better and higher speed and strength. The Repulsors and the Unibeam were extremely enhanced, along with the new laser system which could easily cut down everything along its path (though the laser could only be used once only). On the other hand, other standard equipment also included and even strengthened further.

Iron Man Suit Mark VII

Unlike its predecessor, Mark VII focused on offense and combat. The suit’s appearance was still similar to the previous armors, except for several minor changes. Mark VII also used in The Avengers Age of Ultron movie.

As a combat suit, Mark VII dedicated to offensive weapons and it featured even more powerful core: Vibranium Arc Reactor. This resulted in even stronger Repulsors, Unibeam, and repetitive uses of lasers. For better weapons capacity, the suit also featured a separate backpack which provided more space for weapons.

In Iron Man III, the suit still existed until its destruction along with other Iron Man suit and armors showcased in the Hall of Armor.

Iron Man Suit Mark XLIII

The Mark XLIII, or Mark 43, was the main Iron Man suit in Avengers Age of Ultron. The armor still retained its signature red and yellow tone, along with the gold-titanium alloy which was extremely durable.

The suit still had its signature features: Super-strength, Super-defense power, Repulsors, Unibeam, Rockets and Shoulder-guns. As the upgraded version of Mark XLII, Mark XLIII also had the ability of self-assembly to Tony’s body. Like always, Mark XLIII equiped with J.A.R.V.I.S AI system, but only until Tony changed the suit’s AI to F.R.I.D.A.Y. Other fascinating implementations of the suit were the Sentry Mode which allowed the suit to protect Tony while he was near it. And also it provided the ability to see through things without obstruction.

Iron Man Suit Mark XLIV

Mark XLIV was an extended version of Mark XLIII; it was co-designed by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner as a mean to stop when Hulk went enraged. Due to that purpose, it also had the name: Hulkbuster Armor.

The armor was 24 feet in height, which was 12 feet higher than the Hulk. Also it was the heaviest armor among Iron Man suit and armors. In order to stop the Hulk, this armor required power generating system which could boost its power to surpass the Hulk himself. It also had super-durability which designed to withstand the Hulk’s assault. Besides the super-strength and super-durability to withstand the Hulk, Hulkbuster still had other standards weaponry, like the Repulsors, Unibeam, and Rockets. It even had Micro-punching Repeater system which expected to take down the Hulk.

In order to assemble Hulkbuster, its parts were stored in a satellite storage system called Veronica. Once activated, the Hulkbuster parts would assemble themselves and build-in with the Mark XLIII, resulting in Mark XLIV, a.k.a the Hulkbuster.

The latest title Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild has become a blast among Legend of Zelda players and fans. This enormous, rich-of-content world has so much to offer and discover, including numerous secrets waiting to be explored. By now, probably most of us already have completed the game; however, have we explored all of the secrets so far? There are so many secrets out there; some are fun to watch, while some other are extremely useful. And so this time, let’s focus on the top 10 most useful Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild secrets.

1. How to Expand Inventory?

By now this is not necessarily a secret but at the time its first release, people had quite a big problem in inventory management. Since there are so many things to grab, it is really hard to choose what to keep and what to throw away. Especially when the weapons are easily broken, players tend to keep many weapons in their inventory.

Luckily, we have a partial solution for that: there is a way to expand our inventory. By giving Korok seeds to Hestu, we can have our inventory expanded. For each Korok seed, we can have one more inventory slot. However, there is another question: where can we find Hestu?

The first time we can see Hestu is on the road leading to Dueling Peaks Stable. If you purchases two inventory upgrades from him, he will move on to a spot outside Riverside Stable. Here you can get several more upgrades from him, then he will move to his finally location at Korok Forest.

2. Where is the Master Sword?

Those who are beloved fans of Legend of Zelda will surely try their best to find this legendary sword. But in such an enormous world of Breath of the Wild, finding the Master Sword is surely not an easy matter. Nonetheless, it is one of the most exciting Breath of the Wild secrets.

In order to reach the Master Sword, we will need to ventures throughout the Great Hyrule Forest. The journey starts at the Lost Woods, which located to the North of Hyrule Castle. Once we arrive at the Lost Woods, we will need to follow the braziers path up to a point where there are only 2 braziers. Here we will need to take a torch there and light it up with the brazier.

Now is when thing gets more tricky. Since there is no brazier to follow, we will need to follow the path which guided by the embers from the torch. Stay true to the ember path and we will finally arrive at the Korok Forest where the Master Sword sleeps. And so, the Master Sword will finally be in our hand… if we fulfill its requirement…

3. How to Swap Heart Containers and Stamina Vessels?

In order to wield the Master Sword, you will need to “prove your inner strength”. It literally means you need to have 13 Heart Containers in order to take the Master Sword. It means you will need to find whole lots of shrines and fights the Divine Beasts.

However, there is a way to help you get the legendary Master Sword quicker. Throughout the world, you will probably see several gloomy statues. At your first encounter with them, they will take 1 Heart Containers from you and offer it back at the price of 120 Rupees. Sounds like being scammed isn’t it? But actually, later they will tell you that they will buy each of your Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels at the price of 100 Rupees. Then they will offer to sell it back to you as Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels at the price of 120 Rupees. So in general, we can have our Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels swapped at the cost of 20 Rupees.

This way, you can have 13 Heart Containers earlier in the game in order to get the Master Sword, and then swap the Heart to Stamina Vessels later on at your liking. Besides getting the Master Sword, this Breath of the Wild secrets can also be extremely useful, depends on what you need for your journey.

4. How to Tame Horses and other Animals for Riding?

Traveling in such an enormous world like in Breath of the Wild can be tiring if we just keep walking alone. Therefore, a trusty ride would be a nice companion in this long journey. Thankfully, we can tame horses as our ride. In order to tame a horse, we will need to sneak up to our target and jump onto its back. When we’re on its back, quickly mash the L button in order to tame it before it kicks us down. Once we tamed the horse, we can register it at a stable of your choice.

Of course, taming a horse requires our understanding about them. There are 2 types of horse:

Spotted horses are pretty calm and well-mannered, and they tend to follow your direction.
Single-color horses have higher stamina and speed, but they are hard to tame and they don’t usually follow our lead.

In addition to horses, we can also ride other wild animals like deer or bear; however, we can’t register them. But still, it is one of the coolest Breath of the Wild secrets as it allows us to ride various exotic beasts.

5. What can we do if our horse is dead?

Horses are our ride and also our trusty companion; however, that doesn’t mean our horses are invincible. While traveling throughout the world of Breath of the Wild, there may be chance our horse gets killed. We can always tame a new horse, but there is one of Breath of the Wild secrets which can resurrect your horse: consulting Malanya, the Goddess of Horses.

The common route leading to Malanya is warping at the Lake Tower, and then following the trail West and South to the Horse God Bridge (getting a horse from Highland Stable is recommended). Once you arrive at Horse God Bridge, just keep move on pass the bridge and you will meet Malanya. She will ask you 1000 Rupees, after paying her; she will resurrect any dead horse of your choice.

6. Is there any easy way to kill the Guardians?

Guardians are dangerous foes in Breath of the Wild and fighting them proved not to be an easy task. However, there is a trick to help you fight these Guardians easier if you’re good at parrying.

The Guardian has laser attack which can be parried when we equip a shield. By parrying at the precise moment, we can reflect the laser back to the Guardian itself. We can defeat the Guardian if we succeed in parrying its laser about 3 times.

After we defeat a Guardian, we can loot Ancient stuffs from it and sell them for a decent chunk of Rupees, or…

7. Crafting Ancient Gears at Akkala Ancient Tech Lab

At first glance, these Ancient stuffs such as Ancient Screws, Cogs, and Cores may just seem to be sold. However, we can use these Ancient materials to craft lots of new gears from a particular Tech Lab for our next journey.

This Tech Lab located to the East of Deep Akkala. Inside the lab, there is science team who specializes in making various Ancient arsenals, including the Ancient Soldier Set.

8. Dragon Parts and where to find them

Dragon Parts aren’t necessary one of Breath of the Wild secrets, but they are absolutely useful materials for various purposes. And so, the question is: where to find these magical materials?

These Dragon Parts can only be taken from the three dragons guarding the three springs of the Triforce: Courage, Wisdom, and Power. The three dragons are:

Dinraal can be at the Eldin region.
Farosh can be at Lake Floria, Lake Hylia, or Gerudo Highlands.
Naydra can be at Mount Lanaryu.

By hitting each of the dragon’s body part, we can get a Dragon Part accordingly: body for scales, claws for claw, fangs for fang, and horns for horn shards.

Besides unlocking hidden shrines from each spring, these Dragon Parts can also be used in cooking and upgrading armors for immense enhance.

9. Who is Kilton the Merchant?

Kilton is mentioned lots of time by many NPCs throughout Breath of the Wild. And we can actually find this guy at the skull-like lake near Deep Akkala. Afterwards, he will disappear then reappear (only at night) at various locations around Lurelin Village, Zoras Domain, Gerudo Town, and Hateno Village.

Kilton specializes in trading monster parts for various monster masks which are useful when we need to blend in a particular monster hub. In addition, he will sell the Dark Link set, provided that we have defeated all four Divine Beasts.

10. How to get Link’s own House?

Traveling is an exciting activity indeed; however, no matter how exciting our journey can be we will want to return home at some point. And in Breath of the Wild, we also feel the same about having a home.

Luckily, we can have our own home at a place located to the Southwest of Hateno Village. Upon our arrival, we will encounter a group of builders and an abandoned house. By paying 3000 Rupees and 30 wood pieces for Bolson, we can have our own Link’s House with various housing customizations.

In addition, buying the house will unlock another side quest called “From the Ground Up” which involving in rebuilding an entire village. The progress is quite demanding, but the rewards will be extremely handsome, making this one of the most rewarding Breath of the Wild secrets.

Attack on Titan Titans: What are these Man-Eating Nightmares?

According to the Greek Mythology, Titan Gods, or Titaness, are the second generation of divine beings. They are sentient beings with knowledge surpasses humankind. However in Attack on Titan titans are mindless, giant creatures which seek human flesh. Their terrifying existence has caused terror to the people inside the Walls for hundreds of years. But the big question is: what exactly are they? Where did they come from? Luckily, those questions now finally have partial answer, and this time let’s round up what we finally understand so far about these man-eating creatures.

When we first saw these titans, our most basic reaction would be scared and trying to run away. That’s normal reaction when people face imminent dangers. In Attack on Titan, people did the same, except for the fact that they built the Walls to prevent the titans from coming.

These titans are huge and various in height types: some small titans are 5-meter height, while many medium-size titans are 7-meter height. Then there are huge titans which can reach 15-meter height. The biggest and also the highest known titan to date is the Colossal Titan which is 60-meter height – much higher than the Walls.

The titans have the same body feature as human, except for their lack of genitals and their disproportionate body parts. They also have regeneration ability which helps them recover their severed body parts. In addition, their physical strength is quite immense as they can destroy human’s buildings at ease. Their grip power is quite strong and apparently the most effective way to escape titan’s grasp is to use the blade to cut its hand. On the other hand, the titan’ body parts are quite light; its weigh is almost like zero despite their high strength.

So far, the only way to kill these titans once and for all is to cut their nape point. By cutting the nape, the titans will immediately die; otherwise they will just keep coming and regenerating.

Titan’s Characteristics

No one knew these titans’ origin, except for the fact that they prefer eating human only, and they are pretty “stupid”. Despite their thirst for human flesh, they don’t digest human but instead they just vomit the dead bodies.

Other living species can peacefully live without fear by these titans, but human will quickly be a target as soon as a titan spots him/her. During the first few episodes of Attack on Titan Season 1, we know that these titans will react wildly when they see human. They may look slow but they are surely reckless in chasing and ravaging human’s town and city, just to get their hand on the prey. Once they lock on their target, they will solely try to eat that target and ignore everything else, including the people flying around to kill them.

Interestingly, these titans only become active at day, and they are extremely passive at night. This was discovered by Hange Zoe through her experiment with the two captured titans named Sonny and Bean.

Titan’s Types

So far there are three titans type known to date:

Pure Titans: These are the most common Attack on Titan titans throughout the series. They possess all of the characteristics we discuss above. In the recent manga chapters, it is revealed that these titans transformed from normal human and used for military purpose.
Abnormal Titans: They are just like Pure Titans but with little twist: They possess unusual movement and higher intelligence than the Pure Titans. It seems these titans have more specific choice of target; they can deal more serious damage than Pure Titans. Otherwise, their other characteristics are still just like Pure Titans.
Titan Shifters: These titans are absolutely unlike Pure or Abnormal Titans; they are human with the power to transform into titans at will. Even in titan form, they still preserve their human mind and senses and they have full control over their titan body. The first typical case of Titan Shifters is Eren who can transform and control his titan at will. Later on, we know that each Titan Shifters possess the power of original titans who founded the world. The titan Eren possesses is the Attack Titan.

* Besides these three titan types, there is another Wall Titans living inside the Walls. They are the material to create the three high Walls and they’re weakened due to extreme lack of sunlight. However, it’s unclear whether they are in different titan type, or they are one of the three titan types above.

According to the manga, the titans are creatures existed about 2000 years ago. In the Marley’s version of titan origin, it said that 1800 years ago there was a royal queen of the ancient Fritz family named Ymir Fritz. She made a pact with the demon to gain the power of the titan. After she was dead, her souls divided into 9 titans, which were also the founding titans who founded the empire of Eldia. The mighty kingdom of Eldia mercilessly invaded other countries, including Marley.

However, from time to time the Eldia was in a civil war, and this was perfect opportunity for other countries to unite and take the power of founding titans. Ultimately, the kingdom of Eldia was fallen, 7 out of 9 founding titans have been in the possession of Marley while King Fritz took the remaining 2 titans and fled to the Island of Paradis. Here he built 3 Walls in order to stay away from the war, and founded the country we now know today.

On the other hand, the records of ancient Eldia told a totally different story, in which the Eldia didn’t raise any war. With the titan power, queen Ymir helped humankind to develop and flourish. That said, there is more information which hasn’t been deciphered from the ancient documents. Nonetheless, it seems the titan origin version of Marley is greatly made up in order to hide the truth.

How to create Attack on Titan titans?

For now, there are two ways to create a titan:

Injecting titan’s spinal serum into a normal human. After a period, the injected person will become a Pure Titan or Abnormal Titan. In the recent manga chapters, we can see that Marley usually use this method to exile people into the land of Paradis. They also use this method as a cheap way for war.
Letting a Pure or Abnormal Titan eats a Titan Shifter: this practice was first seen when Grisha Yeager stole the power of the Founding Titan. He let his son transformed into a titan and ate him, resulting Eren becoming a Titan Shifter with the power of both Attack Titan and Founding Titan. Another recent practice is in the recent manga chapters which involving in Armin eating Bertolt to gain the power of Colossal Titan.

The 9 Attack on Titan Founding Titans

When Queen Ymir Fritz died, she passed on her titan power to 9 Founding Titans. Each has its own power and characteristic, also the host of a Founding Titan can gain the knowledge and memory of the old hosts. For example, in recent manga chapters, Eren can remember the memory from his father and the previous Attack Titan owner: Eren Kruger. As powerful as they can be, all hosts of Founding Titans will suffer the Curse of Ymir which let them live in only 13 more years.

Founding Titan

According to the illustration, Founding Titan Ymir Fritz had the appearance of giant woman with long, golden hair. According to ancient Eldian records, Ymir Fritz used the Founding Titan power to helped developing the humankind.

When she died, she passed on her Founding Titan along with other 8 titans. In the manga, it revealed that King Fritz fled to Paradis Island to avoid the war. That royal family later on changed to Reiss family and they keep holding the tradition of passing the Founding Titan to their descendents. Currently, Eren holds the power of Founding Titan but he can’t unleash that power at will. It requires him to stay near a royal Eldian-blood member to unleash Founding Titan’s power.

For now, the only power we know about Founding Titan is the power to control other titans.

Attack Titan

Eren Kruger once described Attack Titan as a titan which “kept marching toward its goal and freedom”. Attack Titan possesses a quite muscular and fitting body form. It seems to be balance in strength, speed, and agility. This titan is also adept in performing human’s martial art, as shown by Eren Yeager who could easily perform martial art when he’s in titan form.

Later on, Eren Yeager’s Attack Titan also gains the power of skin hardening by injecting Armored Titan serum.

Colossal Titan

This is the very first titan we saw at the beginning of Attack on Titan. This titan is enormous in size with 60-meter height, which easily surpasses the Walls. It has immense physical power and also, it exudes extreme heat which will burn everyone who tries to approach near it. This Colossal Titan who destroyed the Wall Maria was Bertolt Hoover. Later on in the recent manga chapters, he was eaten by titan Armin; hence Armin gained the Colossal Titan power.

Armored Titan

This Titan has been in possession of Reiner Braum even now; however, it is unclear who will be the next chosen for Armored Titan power. The Armored Titan has the similar body build like Attack Titan, except that its body is covered in hardened skin like armor. Therefore, it is hard to damage Armored Titan’s body, and so the most viable way to damage it is to focus on the joints which have no armor.

Female Titan

So far the only Female Titan we know is Annie Lionheart, her Female Titan form is 14-meter height and has quite an agile and fast body. When Annie becomes her titan form, she can easily perform martial art even better than Eren. In addition, she can generate crystalized skin which is extremely hardened, allowing her to fortify her chosen body part.

Female Titan also seems to have the ability to call other titans to attack her like in case of Annie who called titans to eat her titan body.

Beast Titan

Unlike most other titans, Beast Titan possesses an appearance similar to an ape. The power is currently in possession of Zeke Yeager; however, he can only live one more year and he will need to pass it on other successor.

So far, Zeke Yeager/Beast Titan is the only one who can talk normally while in titan form. Beast Titan has a disproportionate body with huge body and thin arms and legs. However, his arm power is immense as he can throw rocks like cannon from far away. It is unclear how strong Beast Titan is, but we can sure that he is even stronger than many Founding Titans as he can defeat Reiner while both are in titan form.

Jaw Titan

Compared to most other Founding Titans, Jaw Titan has a rather smaller size. In case of Ymir, her titan form was only 5-meter height. However, her titan form is extremely agile, allowing her to perform acrobat and climbing rather easily. Her body is also disproportionate as her head is pretty big compared to the rest of her body, suggesting that her jaw is quite strong with sharp teeth.

On the other hand, Jaw Titan next successor, Galliard, has bigger body build with cog-like jaw. Also, just like Ymir, Galliard’s Jaw Titan adepts in agility and speed, allowing him to quickly move on the battlefield. The difference is his titan fingers have hardened skin plating, while Ymir does not.

Cartman Titan

It is unclear about the name of this titan, but for now, we call her as “Cartman” based on her appearance so far. Currently, Cartman Titan is under possession of Pieck, a female soldier of Marley who often seen working as a supporter for Zeke.

Cartman Titan, like Jaw Titan, has a small body build with 4-meter height. This titan mostly moves on both 2 legs and 2 hands, and it has incredibly fast speed. This speed allowed Cartman to rescue Zeke after his defeat by Captain Levi. In the recent manga chapters, Pieck made her appearance as an armored Cartman with heavy artillery on her back.

In addition, just like Zeke, Pieck can talk normally while in her titan form.

Harry Potter has ended and left us many memorable stories and events. This vast magical world is both imaginative and also realistic, and it has tons of intriguing lore, mystical beings, and fascinating spells to learn about. And so this time we will explore some of these fascinating Harry Potter spells. However, they are not just any spells; they are the most Dangerous Harry Potter Spells. Of course, saying most dangerous Harry Potter spells doesn’t necessary mean that they are the most lethal and destructive. It also implies another purpose, such as mind control or erasing memory.

With all that explained, let’s begin!

10. Obliviate, the Forgetfulness Charm

As we can guess, Obliviate’s purpose is to erase the memory of the target. It can be used to erase a particular memory, for example, the Ministry of Magic often uses this spell to remove a muggle’s memory if they see something from the magical world. Also, this spell can be used in grand scale in order to prevent major incidents.

As simple as it may sound, the spell can be extremely dangerous to the brain if it is misused. One typical example was Gilderoy Lockhart who wanted to erase Harry and Ron’s memory about the Chamber of Secret. However, his spell was backfired, eventually immensely erased Gilderoy’s memory.

There are ways to recover erased memory, and interestingly one of them is torturing. This method often used by Voldemort when he wanted to recover information from those who lost memory.

At first, this spell may not sound dangerous much, but imagine in a great scale it can cause extreme society issues. For example, it can make people forget a terrible terrorism, or to cover a shady business in grand scale.

9. Petrificus Totalus, the Full Body-Bind Curse

This one is quite commonly used in Harry Potter movies as it is one of the basic Harry Potter spells taught in Hogwarts. When casted, it puts the target in body-freeze state in which the victim cannot move, even an inch of his/her body. However, it doesn’t affect the victim’s senses.

This spell is also commonly mistaken by Petrification. While Petrificus Totalus only stops body’s movement, Petrification freezes the entire body and senses. It is comparable to the state of turning to stone caused by Gorgon or Basilisk. So far, the best way to lift Petrification is to use a potion made from Mandrake roots.

Petrificus Totalus isn’t exactly dangerous as Petrification and many other spells. However, its application can be quite cruel, like imagining we are being tortured while unable to move. Or when we’re witnessing a terrible crime but we can’t stop it.

8. Stupefy, the Stunning Spell

Besides Petrificus Totalus, Stupefy is another common spell practiced throughout Harry Potter movies. When casted, it knocks down the target, leaving him/her unconscious. Its effect also becomes more powerful if multiple Stupefy casted upon the same target. It is unclear whether multiple Stupefy can become deadly, but surely it will severely knock off the target and the target will even need to be hospitalized.

There are many ways to counter Stupefy, and one of them is to use Shield Charm which can deflect the spell.

7. Diffindo, the Severing Charm

A kitchen knife is mostly used for preparing food at best; however, a homicidal maniac can use it to seriously injure, and even kill people. Diffindo is also quite similar to it.

When casted, Diffindo will cause a precise, clean cut upon the contact area. It was invented by Delfina Crimp as a tool to cut clothes and thread more easily. And just like a kitchen knife, Diffindo can become seriously dangerous as it can easily cut living target, like animals and human.

6. Confringo, the Blasting Curse

Fire energy is commonly described as life energy itself in various entertainment media. But besides that, it is extremely lethal when needed. Confringo is such a spell which can causes extreme fire explosion upon the contact area. The spell can become more powerful if used by powerful wizards.

5. Sectumsempra

Professor Severus Snape was always a mysterious and gloomy figure at the first few movies. Later on, it was revealed that he is the Half-Blood Prince. He’s also the inventor of Sectumsempra, a deadly spell used by Harry during his duel with Malfoy.

Simply put, Sectumsempra is a more dangerous version of Diffindo. The big difference is: Sectumsempra’s purpose is to injure people. When used, it deeply cuts into victim’s body, causing heavy blood loss which can lead to death if not treated quickly. In addition, any body part severed by Sectumsempra won’t be able to recover. Originally Snape created this spell to defend him against the Marauders (*), eventually became Snape’s signature spell (though we didn’t see him use it much).

The wounds caused by Sectumsempra can be partly healed by using healing spells such as Vulnera Sanentur. However, further treatment is still needed in order to fully heal the wounds.

* Marauders is a group of four Gryffindor students including: Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black and James Potter who tend to cause trouble.

4. Fiendfyre

What can be more dangerous than being hit by a fire explosion? The answer is a gigantic fire monster which can pursue us to our doom; Fiendfyre is such a spell. When casted, it creates a “living fire” creature which will hunt down the target on its own. This “fire creature” can be anything, from giant snake to gigantic chimera or dragon, depends on the user’s power and imagination. In few cases, the spell can create a sentient fire creature which can seek to burn all living things on its path. The fire exuded from the Fiendfyre is so powerful that water and even enchanted water can’t extinguish this ravaging flame.

Due to its tremendous power, the spell is extremely difficult to control when unleashed. Wizards who aren’t familiar with this spell can still create a fire creature, but they won’t be able to control it. Therefore, careful consideration is a must before unleashing this dangerous spell. Those who are more powerful and have more experience can have more control over the spell. The most notable case of wizards who can control Fiendfyre is Voldemort.

3. Imperio, the Imperius Curse

Since this is the list of the most dangerous Harry Potter spells, we can’t simply forget the three Unforgivable Curses, which are also the most dangerous spells in Harry Potter Universe.

The first one we have is Imperio, a curse which can control other people. When casted, it throws people into a dreamy state in which they feel like being “free”, “escape from all kinds of responsibility”. Afterwards, these victims will do everything ordered by the curse user. The victims are even ready to do the most terrible crimes (like homicide) without feeling remorse. One example of Imperio’s victims was Viktor Krum who was cursed by Barty Crouch Jr. If not for Harry’s intervention by using Stupefy on Viktor, Viktor would have used Crucio on Cedric.

So far, the only way to stop Imperio is to have an unbending will of steel. People who succeeded in stopping this curse are few, including Harry Potter.

2. Crucio, the Cruciatus Curse

Coming in second place, we have Crucio, a totally suitable tool for torturing. When casted, Crucio causes imminent pain to the target, making them suffer in a long and painful torture. According to Bellatrix Lestrange, in order to successfully cast this spell, the user must have a strong desire and feeling of inflicting pain to the others.

One of the typical victims from this curse was Harry Potter himself. He described the pain from Crucio was like having his bone burning wildly and his head being cracked open.

Although this curse isn’t the deadliest among Harry Potter spells, it can be arguably the cruelest curse in the Harry Potter Universe due to its long lasting and extremely painful effect.

And here we are, the final deadliest Harry Potter spell and also the most used Unforgivable Curse by Voldemort and the Death Eaters. The Killing Curse, just like what its name implies, is a curse which can kill a person instantly without feeling anything. When casted, the user’s wand launches a magical bolt which will instantly kill the target.

Based on what we can see from the movie series, it seems that this curse doesn’t do anything to the target’s body. Instead, it extracts the target’s soul – the very essence of every living being, leaving the body behind without soul. Despite its destructive capability, this curse isn’t necessary the cruelest among Harry Potter spells. It quickly delivers death to the target without feeling anything; therefore, at least the target will die without enduring pain for a long period. That said, it is still worthy to be the most dangerous among Harry Potter spells since it kills people so quickly. Just imagine if this spell falls into a homicidal maniac (like… Joker in DC Universe?), there will be no living man in this world.

Who are the Suicide Squad characters in the movie?

With the released of Suicide Squad movie in 2016, the Suicide Squad has become more well-known, especially to those who don’t know much about DC Universe. But, it also means that many people don’t really understand about these Suicide Squad characters origins and backgrounds. Some are familiar like Deadshot, Joker or Harley Quinn, while the others aren’t that popular like El Diablo or Rick Flag. And so today, let’s check out all of these Suicide Squad characters and see how they are in comic version!

1. The Joker, starred by Jared Leto

Clown Prince of Crimes, Harlequin of Hate, The Joker, he is probably the most infamous villain in DC Universe and most people have already known him by now. In the movie, Joker was starred by Jared Leto and he still maintained his iconic appearance like in the comic: purple suit, pale skin, green hair, and his iconic laugh. On the other hand, the Joker in Suicide Squad movie appears to be more maniac in terms of destruction, rather than intelligent scheming like Heath Ledger’s Joker.

In the comic story of New 52, there was one time when Joker disappeared, leaving Harley Quinn behind. While living alone, Harley Quinn joined the Suicide Squad for a while and she found a new purpose there. However, when Joker returned, he punished Harley for being “too independent”.

2. Harley Quinn, starred by Margot Robbie

Harley Quinn is probably among the most popular Suicide Squad characters in the movie, besides Joker. Her appearance and characteristic sticks quite closely to the comic version, including her typical hairstyle, revealing outfit, her half-crazy characteristic, and also her background story.

Just like in the comic, Harley Quinn was actually a young psychiatrist working at Arkham Asylum called Dr. Harleen Quinzel. When Joker was sent to Arkham, Harleen gradually took great interest about him. And then gradually she fell in love with him, ultimately became Harley Quinn, a close side kick of Joker.

Unlike the movie version, Harley Quinn and Joker have never been in the Suicide Squad together. As mentioned above, when Joker left without Harley, she was later on among Suicide Squad characters and found new purpose in there. Later on in the recent DC Rebirth issues, Harley is still working with the Suicide Squad as an active member.

3. Enchantress, starred by Cara Delevingne

Like in comic version, Enchantress, or June Moone (her true name), is the active member of Suicide Squad. Her background in the movie version also sticks to the original comic version: June Moone is a young artist, but with a special power. She can become Enchantress, a powerful sorcerer who has power on par with Zatanna (some say she can even surpass Zatanna).

There is a difference between movie Enchantress and comic Enchantress. In the movie, June Moone has great difficulty in controlling her Enchantress power. Therefore, she is always gloomy and always looks sad. On the other hand, her comic version looks merrier.

4. El Diablo, starred by Jay Hernandez

There are different versions of El Diablo, and the El Diablo in Suicide Squad movie is Chato Santana. Movie Chata Santana and comic Chata Santana both share the same background: Before becoming a Suicide Squad member, Chata Santana was a gangster with pyrokinetec ability which allows him to control fire at ease. Despite being a gangster, Chata Santana seemed to have his own code of rules. In a debt collecting task, he burned down an entire building and accidentally killed many women and children. After that tragic event, he turned himself in; however, Amanda Waller had a different plan for him: recruiting him for the Suicide Squad.

5. Deadshot, starred by Will Smith

Deadshot’s true name was Floyd Lawton and he was once a professional assassin. He’s often seen wearing his cybernetic suit when working, along with his two guns on his two arms, and a sniper rifle. Deadshot is a professional marksman; he’s often referred as the man who “never misses”.

Before becoming a member among other Suicide Squad characters, he was a free assassin for hired and he took almost all contracts with a suitable price. In the Suicide Squad Rebirth, it is revealed that Deadshot once had to take a contract of killing a senator if he wanted to ensure his daughter’s safety. However, he failed his assassination for the first time due to Batman’s intervention. Afterwards, Deadshot and Batman cooperated and successfully rescued Deadshot’s daughter.

Later on, Deadshot was captured and forced to become a member of Suicide Squad. He has been one of the active members of Suicide Squad since then.

6. Killer Croc, starred by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje

Here we have one of the Batman’s enemies, but this time he’s in the rank of Suicide Squad. Killer Croc is a man with reptile’s characteristics and animalistic traits. In the comic, he’s a huge reptile-like human with green skin; his skin is tough which can block gunfire. He also has high regenerative ability, super strength, speed, and senses.

In Suicide Squad Rebirth, it is revealed that Killer Croc’s true identity was Waylon Jones, an orphan who had reptile atavism since he was born. Due to his “bizarre appearance”, he was often bullied by local kids. But among them there was a girl named Emma who befriended with Jones. One day, Jones saved Emma from a crocodile; however, people mistook him as the one who harmed Emma. He ran away and nothing was heard from him since then.

7. Katana, starred by Karen Fukuhara

Katana’s true name was Tatsu Yamashiro, a professional martial artist, and later on a professional swordswoman. Unlike most other Suicide Squad characters, Karen Fukuhara volunteered to join the Suicide Squad ranks. In the movie, her motive was pretty unclear while in the comic it was partly explained.

Katana used to be a professional martial artist until her marriage with Maseo when she decided to retire. However, Maseo’s brother, Takeo, didn’t appreciate this marriage. He was a great figure in Yakuza business, especially after he possessed the Soultaker, an ancient blade which had the power to absorb human souls. One day, Takeo burned down and hunted for Tatsu’s family. All of her family members died, including Maseo. When Takeo came to kill her, the Soultaker reacted; it chose Tatsu instead of Takeo. Therefore, Tatsu was able to wield Soultaker and kill Maseo.

Though her family murderer died, she said that the sword told her to join Suicide Squad as they would need her. Currently, she is the Suicide Squad’s second-in-command, after Rick Flag.

8. Slipknot, starred by Adam Beach

Unlike other frequent members of Suicide Squad, Slipknot, a.k.a Christopher Weiss doesn’t appear in the Suicide Squad Rebirth. However, he did appear in New Earth as a villain who extremely skilled in ropes. He and other villains once took a task of killing Firestorm; however, their plan was failed. Slipknot was quickly captured after that.

9. Captain Boomerang, starred by Jai Courtney

Apparently it is unclear whether the movie Captain Boomerang is Owen Mercer or his father George “Digger” Harkness. But one thing we know is that both father and son take the alias of Captain Boomerang.

George “Digger” Harkness, the original Captain Boomerang, was a villain and also a member of Rogues Gallery, a villainy group fighting against the Flash. He was extremely skilled in using boomerangs and he could utilize various types of boomerang for his bidding.

The Origin of Master Chief, the Great Hero of Halo

Halo is a legendary franchise began in 2001 with the title Halo Combat Evolved. Most of gamers during that time knew Halo, even those who weren’t interested in FPS genre. The Halo franchise is famous throughout the world, with the iconic hero everybody loves: Master Chief. He is often portrayed as a honorable warrior in armor. He has fought and saved the humankind many times from the threat of Covenent, and especially the infamous Flood. But the question is: Who is Master Chief really? And so today, let’s try to know more about this iconic hero.

* WARNING: SPOILERS ALERT!!!

The Journey of Master Chief

Before we go into Master Chief’s past, let’s review who he is currently and what he has done in the past few years throughout 5 Halo games.

Master Chief was a commando of Spartan-II in the United Nations Space Command (UNSC) army. In the Human-Covenant War, which also known as The Great War, he was deemed as the hero. Not only that, he was among the most well-known UNSC warriors over his 30 years of service. He achieved most of the UNSC medals to date, except for the Prisoner of War Medal.

In Halo Combat Evolved, Master Chief was a Spartan soldier of UNSC. He, along with his new AI partner Cortana, discovered the Halo which was a gigantic space station. However, soon they found out that Halo was not just a station; it was a “prison” to keep the Flood in check. These Flood are dangerous parasites which could quickly kill an individual and control that body and rewrite that body’s DNA.

This caused great interest for the Covenant; they sought to control this dangerous biological weapon. Therefore, they fooled the human to open the Flood’s seal, letting these terrific parasites free. As the results, the Flood consumed most of the Covenant army. Master Chief, with the help of the AI 343 Guilty Spark, tried to stop the Flood but in the end he was unable to do it.

After Guilty Spark turned on Master Chief and Cortana, they escaped to the place while the Halo was destroyed. After the destruction, Master Chief and Cortana returned back to Earth.

After the event of Halo Combat Evolved, Master Chief and Cortana returned to Earth but to only find out that Earth was already discovered by the Covenant.

Master Chief and Cortana joined force with the UNSC, but then they found out that an orbiting capital ship successfully got to the Slipspace above New Mombasa city, eventually destroyed the entire city due to its shockwave. He chased down the ship to the other side of the portal and discovered another space station: Installation 05, a.k.a the Delta Halo.

Master Chief and his team managed to kill one of the Prophets: Prophet of Regret. Later on, he and Cortana was captured by the Gravemind, a Flood organism which possessed high intelligent and the ability to control the Flood. Here, Master Chief also met Thel ‘Vadamee a.k.a the Arbiter, a fallen Elite general of Covenant army. Together they stopped the Delta Halo from activating. Afterwards, Master Chief went on his pursue to the last Prophet, but he had to leave Cortana behind with the Gravemind.

In Halo 3, Master Chief managed to return to Earth and regrouped the UNSC once again. Despite the UNSC’s effort, the Covenant succeeded in activating a portal on the African Savannah. However, they had to stop the invasion of the Flood before chasing down the Covenent.

After putting stop to the Flood, Master Chief and the Arbiter followed the Covenant and discovered the Ark, an ancient installation built by the Forerunner. On the Ark, the Flood convinced Master Chief that they had to work together if Master Chief wanted to stop the Prophet. And true, they succeeded in stopping the Prophet and preventing the Halo from activating. Of course, this was just a temporary alliance, the Flood quickly turned on Master Chief and the Arbiter. And again, they needed a way to stop this threat.

It was then uncovered that the Ark had another purpose: recreating the Halo destroyed by Master Chief long time ago. By activating an unfinished Halo, the Flood would be destroyed without activating the other Halo. However, it needed a code which held by Cortana who trapped with the Gravemind. Master Chief and the Arbiter successfully rescued Cortana and fired the Halo. Upon their escape, only the Arbiter got back to Earth safely while Master Chief and Cortana were lost.

After years, Cortana woke up Master Chief and the duo realized that they encountered another Forerunner installation and a Covenant ship. Despite Master Chief and Cortana’s effort to stop the Covenant, the Forerunner installation finally activated and pulled the ship inside.

Afterwards, Master Chief and Cortana accidentally awoke a sinister Forerunner, Didact, who wanted to enslave humanity. Didact took control of the Covenent force, while Master Chief got support from the UNSC vessel “Infinity”. Later, it is also known that Cortana were facing the situation of fading due to her excessive active period.

The duo chased down Didact to Gamma Halo, but to only find out that Didact got his weapon and moved to Earth. Master Chief and Cortana infiltrated on his ship and had a last battle with Didact. The Chief achieved victory at the cost of Cortana.

In Halo 5 Guardians, Master Chief was not the main protagonist. Instead, players follow the story of the new Spartan generation Jameson Locke who pursuing Master Chief.

Later on, it is discovered that Cortana was still alive, but with bizarre motive. Despite Master Chief’s convince of returning back, Cortana refused and she intended to seal the Blue Team from Osiris. Luckily Locke and his team managed to free them.

At the end, Cortana disappeared and not much known about her since then, while Master Chief regrouped with Locke and Spartan Commander Sarah Palmer and Dr. Catherine Halsey.

At the beginning of the series, Master Chief seemed not intended to be a full-characteristic protagonist, but rather a vessel which players could project themselves on in the game.

But from time to time, Master Chief had more and more contexts and now we could know more about this hero of the Earth, as a person, not just “Master Chief”.

Master Chief’s Childhood

Master Chief’s true name is John-117 born in Elysium City of Eridanus II. Since he was young, he proved to have many qualities: intelligent, physically strong, and taller than most of his colleagues.

When he was six years old, John-117 along with other 149 children became candidates for the SPARTAN-II super-soldier program. Thanks to his born strength and intelligent, he was chosen for the program. Later on, 75 children, including John, were secretly taken to Reach and replaced by their clones. However, their clones wouldn’t last long as they were dead due to “natural causes” in order to conceal the missing of those 75 children.

John-117 and other 74 children trained at Reach FLEETCOM Military Complex, which was also their home for years. The goal of this SPARTAN-II program was to train these children to become Earth’s protectors in the future. The training included history lessons, military strategy, tactics and weapons training, extreme physical exercises. The primary people in charge of this program were Dr. Halsey and Chief Mendez.

John was exceptional individual, but he got to learn about teamwork. John was teamed with Kelly-087, Samuel-034 and together they became close friends and learned about working with each other.

From time to time, John proved himself to be a prominent warrior and leader. Eventually he became a solid choice for SPARTAN-II leader position, and also he became Spartan Blue Team’s leader.

SPARTAN-II Test

When the children reached the age of 8, all of them were put in a test in which they had to survive in the forest and got to the extraction point. The last person would face heavy punishment.

John, as a leader, devised a plan for entire team to get to the extraction point first, while John volunteered to be the last one. John’s plan went on successfully; however, Chief Mendez thought it was over the boundary. Even so, both Dr. Halsey and Chief Mendez recognized John’s plan and his strategic mind.

Later on, John remained as the leader of Spartans, while his colleagues gradually gained higher rank and commanded their own teams.

SPARTAN Enhancement

When John was 14 years old, he was in a human enhancement program which would tremendously increase a person’s reflexes and strength. However, the program was extremely risky in which 30 trainees were dead during the process, while the other 12 were seriously injured. John was among the 30 trainees who succeeded in that enhancement program.

To test the extent of John’s enhanced body, he was put in a fight with 4 professional soldiers of ODSTs. John easily defeated the four opponents: he accidentally killed two soldiers while heavily damaged the others two. Despite John’s guilty feeling, he was acknowledged and told that he did the right thing.

Later on, John and other Spartan soldiers moved to an abandoned mine where they had to face soldiers wearing MJOLNIR Mark I armors without getting proper equipment.

After this test, John-117/Master Chief’s story progressed to the point of the infamous Human-Covenant War.

League of Legends Champions: Rakan and Xayah

It has been 8 years since the first release of League of Legends and there are total of more than 130 League of Legend champions released up to date. Since there are so many champions at the moment, it’s quite a task for Riot to keep the game fresh and interesting with new champions. With the latest champions Rakan and Xayah, will it bring new breath into the game? Let’s find out!

Rakan and Xayah, the Charmer and the Rebel

It seems for the first time, League of Legends features a couple champions. And by saying couple, yes they are true lovers in lore. Rakan and Xayah are both Vastaya, a popular race among League of Legends champions (including the famous girl Ahri).

Story of Xayah

Xayah is a member of Lhotlan tribe, when she was young she was in love with her father’s singing the folksongs about the legends of vastaya. These songs help her connecting to the realm of spirits dancing alongside with the physical realm. However, from time to time, humans came to the land of her tribe to extract the power of Ionia, while her kind didn’t prevent it. But Xayah didn’t except this, she violated the tribe’s code (probably the reason why she called as Rebel) and ventured to human’s territory.

Upon her arrival, she encountered poor people who tried to tear her feathers hoping that they have high value. She managed to return to her village, but only found out that her tribe disappeared. Meanwhile, the corruption arisen and decimated the land.

Later, she started her trail to revive the bountiful land of Ionia. Along her way, she encountered Rakan who was a charming entertainer. They went on the journey with each other and gradually they became close, together thrived to bring back the land of Ionia.

Xayah’s Skills and Abilities

Xayah is the newest Marksman of League of Legends champions; she can burst out tons of damage in a short time by using her feathers as ammunition. Xayah’s skills surround her feathers’ manipulation:

Clean Cuts (Passive): Xayah can store up to 5 feathers attack. After casting a spell, her next 3 basic attacks can pierce through all enemies in a line, dealing 100% damage to primary target and 50% damage to passed-through foes. The feathers will remain on the ground for 6 seconds.

Lover’s Leap (Passive): Xayah recalls back to base if clicked on Rakan while he’s channeling to Recall.

Double Daggers (Q): Xayah throws 2 feathers in a line at max range. Each feather deals 40/60/80/100/120 Physical Damage (+50% bonus AD). The damage dealt to secondary enemies will be reduced by 50% compared to the first target.

Deadly Plumage (W): Xayah surrounds herself with a dagger-feather storm which increases 30/35/40/45/50% Attack Speed in 4 seconds. Also, each of her basic attack launches a bolt which deals 20% bonus physical damage and increase 30% Movement Speed for 1.5 seconds.

Rakan will also gain Deadly Plumage if he’s near Xayah.

Bladecaller (E): Xayah recalls all of her feathers, each feather deals 50/60/70/80/90 Physical Damage (+ 60% bonus AD). The damage will be increased by 0.5% for each 1% Critical Chance Xayah has. However, each feather will deal less 10% damage than the last (with the minimum of 10% damage). Those who struck by atleast 3 feathers will be rooted by 1 second.

Featherstorm (Ultimate): Xayah jumps into the air and becomes invulnerable for 1.5 seconds (she is still able to move). While jumping into the air, Xayah will throw 5 feathers in cone, dealing 100/150/200 Physical Damage (+ 100% bonus AD).

Unlike Xayah, Rakan was a merry traveller, entertainer who was so famous in every festival, party he joined in. What he brought was pretty chaotic, yet entertaining atmosphere. He was also well-known as a professional dancer/battle-dancer, and especially a charmer with great attraction power.

One day, he encountered Xayah; however, she wasn’t fall into his charm and she didn’t have much interest in him. This greatly confused Rakan, he then decided to follow Xayah. Though there were some conflicts, the two travelers have gradually become close and eventually lovers. As Rakan found his new purpose, he swore to follow Xayah and protect her in her endeavor.

Unlike Xayah who excels in Marksmanship, Rakan primarily focuses on supporting and tanking. He can quickly shield his ally and approach the enemies. Also his strong crowd control abilities giving him great advantage in setting up ganking and team-combat.

Fey Feathers (Passive): Rakan generates a shield which can block from 33 (Level 1) – 254 (Level 18) damage (+90% AP). Each time Rakan damages an opponent champion with his skills or basic attacks, Fey Feathers’ cooldown will be reduced by 1 second.

Lover’s Leap (Passive): Rakan recalls back to base if clicked on Xayah while she’s channeling to Recall.

Gleaming Quill (Q): Rakan throws a feather forward which deals 70/115/160/205/250 Magical Damage (+50% AP). If it hits an enemy champion or an epic monster, Rakan will gain a magical circle surrounds him which heals himself and his allies within the circle for 23 (Level 1) to 150 (Level 18) (+ 70% AP) after 3 seconds.

Grand Entrance (W): Rakan dashes toward the selected location, after 1 second delay he jumps into the air, deals 70/110/150/190/230 Magical Damage (+50% AP), and knocks up all enemies within the area for 1 second.

Battle Dance (E): Rakan jumps toward a selected ally champion, giving that ally a 50/85/120/155/190 (+80% AP) shield which lasts 3 seconds. Rakan can re-cast Battle Dance within 5 seconds duration and it can be used on the same target.

Battle Dance’s cast range is increased if the target is Xayah.

The Quickness (Ultimate): Rakan gained 50% movement speed within 4 seconds. During this period, Rakan can touch enemies, dealing 100/200/300 Magical Damage (+ 50% AP) and charming them for 1/1.25/1.5 seconds.

Each enemy can only be affected once.

Both Rakan and Xayah are meant to be a duo: one protector and one damage dealer. They have quite an advantage when laning together with their special traits. However, that doesn’t mean they are weak if they aren’t together.

Rakan himself is a strong supporter and tanker. He can initiate a fight smoothly with shielding and crowd control capability. This allows him to be a nice companion to help damage dealer in the early stage.

On the other hand, Xayah is a strong damage dealer on her own. However, she lacks escape capability as she only has Deadly Plumage as a mean to increase movement speed. Even so, Deadly Plumage requires Xayah to attack; therefore, it is quite a problem to escape especially when she is chased by enemies.

Overall, this duo seems to be interesting as they are both good in solo-ing and teaming. That said, it is quite early to rate these two League of Legends champions on the competitive scene. So we’ll to wait and see how they will play out in the future.

The Ultimate Sword Art Online Swords Collection – Part 1

In an RPG game, gears, loots, mighty weapons and armors are things that we’re all thrive for. And in the world of Sword Art Online, surely it must have various legendary Sword Art Online swords and other weapons. With the announcement of Sword Art Online Season 3 which takes part in Alicization Arc, we will get to see more legendary and flashy weapons. But for the meanwhile, let’s check out the collection of Sword Art Online swords and weapons to date.

Sword Art Online Swords Collection: Elucidator

Elucidator is the signature sword of the main protagonist Kirito, alongside with his Dark Repulser. The Elucidator possesses a pitch-black tone from hilt to its blade tip with the greyish edge. Elucidator is the drop from a boss of 50^th floor; however, the battle’s detail isn’t shown. There is a doujin version of Sword Art Online in which Lisbeth managed to upgrade Elucidator to +40. That said, this is not officially canon.

Sword Art Online Swords Collection: Dark Repulser

Dark Repulser is another signature sword of Kirito, besides Elucidator, however Kirito only uses it when he use Dual Wielding skill. The sword has the shape of a straight sword with cross-like form. It possesses an aquamarine color with the darker tone at its hilt and grip.

In the light novel, it is described differently than the anime version. Dark Repulser in light novel has a white, transparent tone with slender blade. Its grip is silver-tone with slight blue touch.

Unlike Elucidator, Dark Repulser’s origins and creation are clearly shown in the Warmth of the Heart, Aincrad Arc. During this period, Kirito required a new sword and he “accidentally” broke one of Lisbein’s creations. In order forge a new sword, together they venture to the lair of a dragon which could produce a rare metal. They succeeded in gathering an ingot; afterwards, they got back to Lisbein’s forge and created Dark Repulser, which possessed the power on par with Elucidator. Unfortunately, it was broken during Kirito’s fight with Kayaba Akihiko.

Sword Art Online Swords Collection: Lambent Light

Lambent Light is the signature sword, or rather a rapier, of Asuna throughout Aincrad Arc. The sword has a white blade with aquamarine-tone hilt and grip. Although it is a rapier-type sword, according to real-life standard rapier, Lambent Light actually has a wider blade.

Lambent Light was originally forged by Lisbein, and according to Lisbein, it is among best pieces of her work. The sword excels in speed, along with Asuna’s ability, resulting in her nick name as “The Flash”.

It is also the very sword which Kirito used to defeat Heathcliff, a.k.a Kayaba Akihiko, with the help of Asuna.

Sword Art Online Swords Collection: Liberator

Liberator, along with the kite shield, is a set weapon used by Heathcliff, a.k.a Kayaba Akihiko. The sword seems to be a white-tone straight sword with cross-like grip. Normally the sword was sheathed with the shield when it wasn’t needed. Together with the shield, it creates a formidable offense and defense weapon which can easily be switched with Heathcliff’s “Holy Blade” skill. Heathcliff’s Paladin trait, combining with Liberator, makes him to be the strongest character in the game. He could defeat Kirito even without using his Game Master status.

Sword Art Online Swords Collection: Wind Fleuret

Before possessing Lambent Light, Asuna’s first rare weapon was the Wind Fleuret, a pure aquamarine-tone rapier. Like Lambent Light, the rapier also seemed to excel at speed and it could be enhanced 6 times. That said, unlike Lambent Light, this rapier seemed to have much more slender blade similar to real-life rapier.

Asuna and Wind Fleuret had quite a history. At the beginning of Aincrad incident, Asuna was still pretty much a newcomer like most other people. One day, she encountred Kirito in the 19^th floor and he gave Asuna advices for better fighting and farming. Probably thanks to those advices, Asuna eventually got her Wind Fleuret.

Sometime later, there was an incident when Asuna asked Nezha, a blacksmith player to upgrade the Wind Fleuret. However, that blacksmith scammed her by making the rapier disappeared. Later on, Kirito found out the scamming method and got the Wind Fleuret back for Asuna.

Sword Art Online Swords Collection: Anneal Blade

Anneal Blade can be considered as Kirito’s first rare sword at the beginning of Aincrad incident. Unlike his later Elucidator and Dark Repulser, Anneal Blade was actually a reward for a difficult quest: Secret Medicine of the Forest. It could have maximum of 8 enhancements.

The sword used by Kirito throughout the first few floors of Aincrad. Kirito managed to upgrade the sword to +8; however, it was eventually broken after his battle with forest elves at Laketop Fortress.

In the manga, the sword took the shape of a straight sword with straight blade. Meanwhile in the anime, the blade had fancier shape with curved-line edge near the guard of the blade.

Sword Art Online Swords Collection: Karakurenai

Karakurenai is a katana used by Klein throughout until the end of Aincrad Arc. The blade has the typical katana shape and can only be used by those who unlock Curved Sword skill. Besides that, not much information was known about this sword.

Sword Art Online Swords Collection: Tyrant Dragon

Tyrant Dragon is greatsword of Kuradeel, a member of the guild Knights of the Blood, along with Asuna. The greatsword had fancy ornament and looked quite intimidating; however, its low durability made it extremely easy to be broken. This was proved from the fight between Kuradeel and Kirito as Kirito managed to break Tyrant Dragon apart.

Unlike other weapons listed here, Sword Breaker wasn’t a sword but rather, a dagger with spiked-edge back. Sword Breaker itself didn’t have high damage; however, it had a special trait: It had chance to break opponent’s weapon while parrying. Hench the name: Sword Breaker.

Sword Art Online Swords Collection: Mate Chopper

Like Sword Breaker, Mate Chopper is a dagger-class weapon, but its power was far more powerful that the best works of professional blacksmith. This weapon had a menacing appearance which looks like a huge kitchen blade. It also had the vibe of a horrifying weapon wielded by murderers.

The weapon first introduced in the Murder Case Incident in 19^th floor.
